Hillary was for the DNC Sanctions Before She was Against Them

What! You mean I don’t get their delegates? On September 1, 2007 Hillary Clinton, along with Barack Obama, signed a pledge that she would not campaign in any state that had broken the DNC’s rules about changing the date of the primary. Both Florida and Michigan had previously moved their primaries breaking the DNC’s rules. Hillary knew this when she signed the pledge. She also knew that she had huge leads in the polls in both Florida and Michigan:

Michigan:
Detroit News 08/26 - 08/31 -- Clinton +19.0
Detroit News 08/08 - 08/13 -- Clinton +16.0
Strategic Vision (R) 07/06 - 07/08 -- Clinton +7.0

Florida:
Rasmussen 08/13 - 08/13 -- Clinton +19.0
Strategic Vision (R) 08/10 - 08/12 -- Clinton +20.0
Quinnipiac 07/30 - 08/06 -- Clinton +30.0
Mason-Dixon 07/23 - 07/26 -- Clinton +14.0
Rasmussen 07/18 - 07/19 -- Clinton +31.0
Quinnipiac 07/12 - 07/16 -- Clinton +22.0
ARG 07/12 - 07/15 -- Clinton +20.0

But Hillary didn’t just sign the no-campaigning pledge; her campaign chair spoke for the campaign immediately after she signed the pledge saying that she would “adhere to the DNC-approved calendar.” This is more than agreeing to not campaign as she is now claiming is all she ever did, this is supporting the DNC decision. She did not question the calendar at this time.

Then on January 25, 2007 Hillary Clinton stated, “I will ask my Democratic convention delegates to support seating the delegations from Florida and Michigan.” This was just ten days after she won the practically uncontested Michigan Primary, because Barack Obama did not even appear on the ballot. This was also just four days before the Florida Primary where she maintained a huge lead in the polls:

SurveyUSA 01/23 - 01/24 -- Clinton +17.0
Rasmussen 01/23 - 01/23 -- Clinton +25.0
Mason-Dixon 01/22 - 01/23 -- Clinton +22.0
Herald/SPT/Bay9 01/20 - 01/22 -- Clinton +19.0
Strategic Vision (R) 01/20 - 01/22 -- Clinton +11.0
SurveyUSA 01/20 - 01/20 -- Clinton +33.0
Rasmussen 01/20 - 01/20 -- Clinton +18.0

This January 25th change of heart also came just days after Obama took the pledged delegate lead after the Nevada caucus.

It is clear that Hillary’s flip-flop is not out of her love of the people Florida and Michigan. She will do anything to win, and the Florida and Michigan Delegates are her ticket.
