Obama's Most Liberal Record -Details Part II

Continuing with our review of Senator Obama's Liberal Record:

First just a followup on part I. An ad following the debate featured former Democratic presidential nominee and South Dakota Senator George McGovern and was dedicated specifically to opposing ending the secret ballot for union organizing elections. This position is exactly opposed to the position of Senator Obama.

Here are some key votes included in the most liberal rating on social issues:

Bill S30/Vote 128. Opposed support for non-embryonic stem cell research. In effect only willing to do stem cell research if it involved the death of embryos.

Bill S1348/Vote 177. Opposed allowing law enforcement officers to question individuals about their immigration status. The effect of this is to deny foreign nationals the right to the assistance of their own embassies.

Bill S1348/Vote 198. Opposed making English the official language of the United States.

Bill HR976/Vote 302 Opposed defining a fetus as an unborn child. Apparently for Senator Obama a fetus becomes a child sometime after birth if the female parent approves.

Bill S2205/Vote394 Favored permitting unlawful immigrants to gain legal status if the attend college.
