What does Obama know?

Reuters is reportingthat an aunt of Senator Barack Obama, Zeituni Onyango has been living in public housing in Boston Massachusetts during at least the four year period she had been under order to leave the U.S. because she did not have permission to be a resident. Reuter's quotes Obama campaign spokesperson Jen Psaki as saying:

"Sen. Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws should be followed."

Senator Obama previously had attended Tinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois. The pastor of Trinty for the 20 years Senator Obama attended church their was Rev. Jerimiah Wright. When the nature of Rev. Wrights controversial comments over the years became public Senator Obama remarked that Wright was "not the person that I met 20 years ago."

Senator Obama was recruited by Bill Ayers in 1995 to be Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a positin Obama held until 2000. During this time Obama maintained a close working relationship with Ayers. Yet when asked what he knew about Ayers, Senator Obama could only relate that Ayers was some guy who lived in the neighborhood. Another close associate Obama did not know.

If Senator Obama knows so little about the family he deeply cares for, know so little about the pastor who mentored him and converted him to Christianity and whose church he attended for 20 years, knows so little about his supervisor and close confidant of six years, to be aware of their status, beliefs or ideas, can Senator Obama be considered to have developed sufficient judgement of character to make any selections of the officials to serve in the government he wishes to lead? I suggest not.

Note to self: Campaign statement: believes any and all appropriate laws should be followed. Are some laws inappropriate to follow. Who determines if they are appropriate. Can we pick and choose? Does he intend to modify his oath of office to uphold, protect and defend all appropriate parts of the constitution of the United States?
