Obama says he will end Don't Ask Don't Tell

The Wall Street Journal is reporting Saturday night that President Obama has pledged to end the ban on gays serving openly in the armed forces. Speaking at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, a advocacy group for gay rights, Mr. Obama was quoted as saying: "I will end "don't ask-don't tell.'" No time frame was associated with his promise.

While Mr. Obama made the first person pledge, don't ask-don't tell is not a policy malleable by the president, it is a law which requires action by the Congress to change. Even if done at the request of the president, it would never be accurate to say the president changed the law, only that Congress changed the law. The Whitehouse lists a livestream link to the speech audio but the link does not appear to be working. (Accompanying Getty Image photo of Pres. Why is it that every time we have a Democrat in the White House, one of the first issues that gets raised is, homos in the military?

Do Democrats really think that our military is just another of their patronage jobs programs?

Do they not understand that the military is supposed to be a fighting force?

Do the Democrats really think that any of our potential enemies will do anything but laugh when they see a band of angry American lesbians cresting a hill and headed towards them? Do the Democrats want our American military to be the butt of jokes around the world, instead of the most proficient military in the history of the planet?

Some of the women and a few of the men who are in our military are homosexual, but because they can not flaunt their sexual preference while in the service, there is a modicum of order and discipline maintained. When they are discovered, they are bounced out, for the good of the service.

Middle America, is not going to send their sons to fight under the direction of, "Captain Gay-way" That crap may happen on Star Trek, but not in the real world.

There is simply no groundswell of support to change the current policy and the Democrats had better learn that our military is not the place for them to play their social experiment games.

Oh, and to Obama, this isn't the sort of "Hope and Change" that millions of Americans voted for you to accomplish. You are going to be another Jimmy Carter, if you keep this crap up.
